Hey guys! I know this subject has been beat to death but I'm new to this forum and still getting used to things. I recently laid away and old Dan 744. The serial number is SB006917. It was made in Monson, Mass. Is there anyway of knowing the year of manufacture? I keep reading that serial number records for these great guns are scarce.

The spinny thing is the cylinder and that number is an assembly number which has no meaning once the gun leaves the factory.
