The Ascendant Challenge this week is Keep of Honed Edges. I have completed this challenge half a dozen times, always with the sword in hand. I've grabbed the chest and exited the challenge successfully with the sword. I've done this several times with a sub 2:30 time limit, I don't get credit for the Time Trial or completing the basic challenge.

In Destiny 2, as far as I'm aware, it doesn't show that, only the enemy name. I see no reason why the Hidden Swarm wouldn't be the Hive Sect present on the Moon in Shadowkeep.
