The R41 feels very different from the Rocca. The Rocca is smooth and medium aggressive, the R41 is one of the more aggressive razors out there. They're both wonderful razors, but really not comparable. Btw, if you like aggressive razors and want something sturdy, the R41 exists also as a stainless steel version, the R41 GS. enzo1291.
Having said that ... after much experimentation my top 3 favorites are: Gillette - 7 o'clock - Super Platinum Black. Gillette - Perma--Sharp Super Stainless This is the gold and red box, hyphenated "Perma-Sharp". Feather - New Hi-Stainless This one can be harsh but it's manageable in my razor.The Progress is a great shaving razor, and the low-profile head makes it easier for shaving under the nose area. What works extremely well is washing my beard at the sink following my shower, using my hands and Jlocke98's formula: 1/4 cup liquid Dr. Bronner's soap, any fragrance, and 2 tsp oil. Leave it with the cap off for like 12 hours after you use it. Make sure to wipe the excess soap off the top first. I bought a bowl for dogs to eat out. With these things sticking out. I leave it on there to eair dry. Depends on how your soap stored. Generally speaking the tubs most artisans use are not perfectly air tight.
