You get tickets for a specific train, but seats aren't assigned so get their early and you can pick where you want to be. Dinner train might be better as just scenic train ride. The good: The train ride is leisurely and feels like a blast from the past. The train depot did a nice job of building anticipation. The opportunity to spend time in conversation with my wife on our anniversary was really nice.
