This significantly narrowed the field, leaving Stoeger and CZ as the most readily available and making the choice clear. The CZ Bobwhite G2 held the name and reputation. I could have fudged a little over for the CZ Sharp-tail, but I wanted to see what the Bobwhite G2 had to offer at a meager $649.
I handled a CZ Sharp-Tail in 410 last weekend and the fit and finish was excellent; after handling the CZ Sharp-Tail I am leaning CZ. So far, the downside is finding one in 16 Gauge. They are not interchangeable even from the same model guns. The one notable exception is the Blaser F3 - though those are typically in the 10k-15k range depending on options. The CZ Bobwhite 28 ga. is a better balanced gun than the 20 ga. model. I shot one for quail and woodcock until last year when I gave it to the grandson of a longtime friend. It is an excellent gun weighing just over 5.25 lbs. It has a scaled action for 28 ga. and isn't just a pair of 28 ga. barrels on a 20 ga. frame.Description. Apr 22, 2010 · The stocks don't interchange on the Bobwhite and Ringneck because of the false sideplates on Ringneck. I checked with CZ a while back on replacement stocks and they consider the stock to be a custom fitted part of the gun and don't carry replacement stocks. The Grouse stock might fit a Bobwhite as the Grouse does not have the Ringneck's false ...

If you are sold on a SXS (and there is a reason O/Us have taken over the market) then I would go with a current model gun and recommend the CZ or TriStar in the entry price range.
