I started out shooting federal 2 3/4" #8 shot with a modified choke. It shot great but wouldn't cycle. I read up on their website and apparently is has to shoot at least 1200 fps to cycle. I do not own one, but did a lot of research on them since Walmart has the semi-auto .410 for $249 dollars. I like sub-gauge shotguns. From what I can tell, the 12 and 20ga guns perform decently. The Hatfield SAS 12 Gauge Semiautomatic Shotgun is equipped with a unique gas/inertia-blend operating system. It's constructed with a 28 inch vent-rib barrel and an anodized-aluminum receiver, both finished in a high-gloss coat, plus a walnut stock and fore-end. Includes a fiber-optic front sight and F, IC and M choke tubes.

It came with 3 chokes and wrench. For $226 I can't complain. The gun actioned a little gritty at first but it has smoothed up with lube and working the action and firing. Oddly the only two boxes of shells in the entire store were 28 gauge. Luckily had some 410 I stocked up on back when it was clearanced at Walmart a while back.
