Ilvl for mythics.

Hey guys. I'm a returning player from Wrath and I just hit item level 370. (WQ gears and AH BoE pieces). I want to start getting into mythic dungeons but I am not sure where to go. I been relying a lot on the group finder but it only queues you up till Heroic tier dungeons. Is the custom group tab the only way to go about finding a group in game? The higher your ilvl/io gets the easy it is to get invited to groups. A good target to shoot for would be all dungeons done at +10 or higher on week 1. Then on week two you get a decent great vault upgrade and an easy push to 2000io for a free heroic tier token. Keep chipping away at io/ilvl untill you can consistently get invites to +16s.

When I create the group, I usually spec blood so I get a million ppl requesting invites cause tank is filled. Ill grab a high ilvl healer to ensure its a smooth run. Then I'll look for the highest ilvl mage/shammy for lust. Then finish the group with the highest ilvl for 2 ranged dps, 1 melee dps.

As others have said, 10-15 levels below the drop level (not the weekly chest) is considered the standard range to be successful. It really depends on the group comp though. A 430 or less geared tank with a 475 healer will be able to push into +10s as long as they don't get one-shot. Reply.

People that don't do high end content don't need max ilvl. I don't understand why someone that play keys +25 and someone that play keys +15 should wear same ilvl. Makes no sense. An option would be gear you wear to scale with key level. Killing outgearing will add some challenge too.. Anyone know the recommended ilvls for Mythics in 8.0? ... Sure but 940(current 240) is the base ilvl of a m+15 before titanforging, you can probably get away with doing it at like 920ish depending on how good your group is which is still ~20 ilvls higher than what the OP said his was.

Obviously gear helps smooth things out and mitigate impact from mistakes though. ilvl 223 is good enough to be doing 10-15s. I'd probably be doing 10-12s for more consistent runs until you get some pieces but technically it's good enough to regularly be doing higher if you're comfortable. M+ 1-5: ~213 ilvl.
