I also have both (M4 collapsible and 1301 PGLE) and concur. One advantage of the 1301 is the Pistol Grip LE version that comes with an extended mag tube and is 922(r) compliant. If you get the M4 and want to install a mag extension, well you can't easily as the extension doesn't count as a 922(r) part: only the entire tube counts.

But if you have to have one, 1301. Faster shooter, better ergos, lighter. I have a LTT 1301 & a M4. I have both. I’ve had zero malfunctions with the m4 and a handful with the 1301. The 1301 seems faster. M4 feels tougher. If I could only keep one I would keep the m4. In the end neither are cheap.

The TS12 only looks clunky. If you have to navigate tight quarters, like a residential hallway, the TS12 is full foot shorter in OAL than a non-NFA M4 or 1301 or other traditional shotgun.
