Hunt1GSP. I just brought a new male gsp puppy to home with a 5 yr old male terrier and a 6 yr old male gsp. All live in the house. I have had good luck introducing the puppy to the older dogs at a neutral location. We have a Small park a few blocks from the house and do first meeting there. I usually do the in home introduction one dog at a time.

Just purchase 1oz trap loads for practicing and shoot 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 pheasant loads in the field, avoid the super high velocity loads if possible. Dont let the thought of o/u being more recoil get in stuck your head. Youll feel the recoil at the range the first time, because you will be looking for it and concerned.

1 oz. of lead or bismuth 5s at 1200-1250 fps is totally adequate for most pheasant shooting. If you plan to take many 40+ yard shots, consider tightening choke a bit & with bismuth, size up to 4s (& possibly consider 1-1/8 oz loads if the bismuth 4s are manufactured too big & don't give close to 150 pellets in an ounce).

I think ditch hunters can get a bad rap because it gives the impression of being lazy. And ditch hunting is very illegal when after big game like deer but people still do it illegally.
