This disk / plate that I need is just under the hub that attaches to the oilpan. This disk looking / circular plate is pressed on the crankshaft side of the oilpan.

02-24-2008, 08:01 PM. I have a bluestar 2E that wont idle down after breaking arc unless you flip the idle up/down toggle. This machine is a 1985 and has sentimental value to me.I think I remember this was a common problem with these welders. Anyone run into this with a bluestar.It has a 16HP tecumseh and still welds great.

When I tried to weld it would only spark slightly at the rod tip but would not start. I started outwith a Bluestar 2E. It was a good little machine. I got it used from a rental fleet in '84 for $500. Sold it in '88 for $550. They have some quirks. The battery needs to be in good shape at all times. If it stops welding right or gets rough, check the batt. Low or weak batt = rough to bad weld output.Tweet. #1.
