To be fair to Owlcat, Wrath of the Righteous is an adventure path for the pen and paper game. My tabletop group played through it a couple years ago, and the numbers often didn't make sense at places in the AP. It's a problem in Pathfinder in general. After a certain level it becomes a game of rocket tag; whoever goes first wipes the other side.

Lay on hands can remove exhaustion (at higher levels), as can restoration spells. Restoration cures Exhaustion, drained levels, ability damage. It's one of those spells you want to have access to at all times. At lower levels I stocked up on scrolls, at higher levels I always have it ready.
