This is accurate. We have a 7.8AT and Peloton app on our iPad. You watch the class and run whatever you want, but the treadmill and app don't connect. Correct about Peloton, but to be fair, even the official Peloton tread doesn't control speed/incline automatically. I don’t really have any problems (unlike with using the crappy stationary bike) as the tread classes translate better to almost any type of treadmill, but I will say that using a push button to increase/decrease the speed or incline does get a bit annoying.
