US-20 being closed by high winds/blowing snow is a thing to check 511 and listen to the radio for, if the weather warrants it. If the weather is bad, 20 to 191 can take as long as the intrastate way. Taking 287 after West Yellowstone can be a drier, less intense road, but it is not without a snowy pass and some canyon driving, too.
