Having played a horizon walker and an echo knight, I'll say right off the bat this will be a difficult build to utilise all the skills due to bonus actions; the core damage feature for horizon walkers utilises your bonus action every turn to do extra force damage, and the Echo Knight has to use a bonus action to create their duplicate. As you reach outside core, the basic horizon tripper doesn't do quite as well (especially with Tome of Battle in the mix), but it can be upgraded with further tricks. Any adjustment from underground would have to be homebrewed, the underground terrain mastery grants 60 ft. darkvision, or extends 60-120 ft. darkvision.Horizon Walkers tend to work best with a melee build, so choosing a race that has advantages in close combat such as goliath or half-orc will help get the most out of this subclass.
