2nd has to do with the exercise. When your on your peloton your focus should be 100% on that. Your heart rate should be elevated into the 130+ range the entire time for 30 minutes. All too often people get on a bike or treadmill and go for a slow exercise. Heart rate low not really paying attention etc. This doesn't burn calories very quickly.
