The ES models are almost identical to the foot shift models, except the ES just uses an electric motor to move the shift linkage. Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!! You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.

A lot of guys recommend Rotella 15w40 diesel oil. It doesnt have the friction modifiers that regular car oils have that cause clutch slippage. I use Honda oil, and the Honda oil filter.

My 2012 Rancher has the ES and power steering, which, for me, is perfect, but others like the foot shift.
