The dual wield hammer moveset is not amazing. The AoW is strong and has infinite hyper armor and huge range, but is very slow. So if you mean PvP, it could do some real work in teams or FFA, but only people totally unfamiliar with it will get hit by it in duels. Single two handed hammer moveset is, ok, but not amazing either.

The Marika's hammer unfortunately is on the lower end of the range scale, so that combined with the lack of forward momentum makes roll catching inconsistent. What does prevent these r2s from being as bad as flails though is the quick release of the attacks and the ability to control the release timing, which makes a huge difference.
