LBG is a bit harder. Most of the useful LBGs are available toward endgame. You can work on the Chain Blitz (ore) line as it builds into a good sticky lbg toward endgame. Beyond that, you can try the Jyura Bullet for Spread 2 playstyle. I don't like leveling with elemental weapons and wouldn't recommend most other LBG playstyles for leveling.

Adding artillery doesn't really increase this. Adding slugger, on the other hand, does. A slugger 5 build can easily get 5-6 I favour slugger over artillery on my build with the Diablos set. Talking about it quickly, low rank to high rank uses raw attack builds; normal, pierce 1, and pierce 2. For Master rank, you should focus on elemental builds, for my recommendation, I chose Elemental Pierce.
