New User. Aug 24, 2018. #1. Coming here as a starting point for an issue with the pto on my Case 1070 Agriking that has been nothing but a headache since I inherited it. I have read numerous threads on here about the 70s models having issues with the pto not shutting off, but my issue is the exact opposite. The pto won't engage at all.I am searching everywhere to find the switch to engage the 540 Economy PTO on my New Holland T5060 tractor. I have read this entire owner's manual through and searched all over the web. There is a place on the dash display that indicates the RPMs when this is engaged but I cannot find the way to engage it. It has the deluxe model PTO operation ...It has two settings for the clutch and you can't engage the PTO unless you use adjust the clutch pedal to its highest point. The lower setting is fine for shifting gears but not for the PTO. You probably know this but if the tractor is new to you this might be an easy fix. Aug 28, 2012 / Ford 861 PTO not engaging #5. The PTO control valve is right there with the shaft coming from the lever on the left side of the valve. You can remove the rollpin from the shaft collar and then see if the lever operates. If it does, then the problem is inside the valve. If it does not rotate, the problem is mechanical binding before the control valve.
