This is why MT4 shows bigger gaps at 5PM EST everyday, because the spread widens. On tradingview's chart, you don't see it, because the mid-price is shown. But on MT4, the gaps are more pronounced, because the bid price was shown on the chart, which fluctuated more.

Oanda is fine. I've used them quite a bit over the years and they've always been fair about customer service issues. Not trading with them now because their spreads are a bit less competitive these days compared to other options.
