That did not fix anything, so I shelved it until it was actually starting to go at 135k miles. 2011 Odyssey LX, 136k miles. Sold - 1999 Odyssey EX, 236k miles, original owner.

BTW, depending on how loose the positive cable was, that could have caused failure. on the good testing already. I took a quick look at the 2011/2012 Honda service manual and it appears removal of the evaporator core requires removal of the blower unit, which requires removal of the glove box, an ECU module and a few dash panels, but not the whole dashboard.Check the output voltage, should be between 13-14.5VDC. Remove the battery power wire from the alternator and put the meter in ohms, put one lead one the alternator casing and one on the power lead, reverse the leads and check the reading. You should get a reading in one direction and no reading in the other direction.
A word of warning.The battery is used as a noise filter for the alternator. Without it in the system severe electrical noise is generated in the system and the computer and all other electronics go crazy. I put the OEM ones back in and still monitoring things. As @2011.2017.odyssey posted the TSB, ensure you torque the bolts to the proper spec. Try to locate the leak, clean the area away from the upper control valve meets the lower. If its leaking there, you'll see a build up of dirt and such after a few days.

There is a 3/4 moon sleeve that you need to compress enough to get the ear through the alternator bracket.This model has VCM-2 and thus has the front spool valve. You need to make sure that valve is not leaking (it's a common leak spot), as if it is, that will cause premature alternator failure and such failure is also usually not covered by warranty.
