Is there a better stage or is the grind just that rough? 28-1 is much better. You get 6-8 per run. 28-4, but you need to get lucky and have the cloud send you on the path with all the question marks, each one is 2 gems, you can get up to 16, plus the one from beating the boss. RNG is a bitch, huh?

Always use the category bonus drops when available, there's no penalty or cooldown when using this and it only helps. Before using the boost feature, always get a feel for the event, play 3-4 runs without any boosts and get a feel for the drop rate. It's worth using boost on events with high drop rates.
