I love RL7 for all the same reason's Starrbow mentioned, but H4198 is a real good one as well. H322 has a very good following and is very accurate. I really haven't found a bad powder in my 45-70 yet.. Good thing is everything that works in the 45-70, will work excellent with the 444 Marlin you'll eventually have to have! HA! Good luck.

Powders burn best within their own particular pressure range. The 45-70 would not be able to achieve 4350's ideal pressure level with a cast boolit.
