The armor cap is 567. You can make any armor in the game exceed that with smithing. Past getting 100 Smithing there is no reason to look at armors for anything more than aesthetic. I made a Madness one hand sword. I'm at 100 smithing. With the Arcane blacksmith outfit my Madness sword does over 600 damage!🤯.
